Pricey But Perfect...Well Almost-Creme Anglaise

What Lush Say:

Crème Anglaise

Creme Anglaise is made with some of the finest ingredients available. We've used toning sweet orange oil and moisturising natural butters blended into an almond infusion. An infusion of saffron, the world’s most expensive spice, gives it the authentically golden colour of real Creme Anglaise. This hand and body lotion will lavish a new kind of luxury on your skin and make you proud to be British.

Almond Infusion (Prunus dulcis), Saffron Infusion (Crocus sativus), Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Myrrh Resinoid (Commiphora myrrha), Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis), Triethanolamine, Perfume, Cetearyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Coumarin, *Eugenol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Methylparaben}

What My Thoughts Are:

So i first came across this amazing cream when i was browsing Lush with the lovely Zoella in Covent Garden when we both went the London Fashion Week. We both tried the cream, looked at the price and walked you do lol! However we both couldn't believe how good if felt on our skin. So whilst in Lush in Westfield i spotted the little pot of amazing miracles at the till..once again kept starring at the price and then thought ahhh what the heck i could treat myself this month :) So i did. I love everything about this cream, it smells amazing a mix between vanilla and well vanilla. Its a very strong smell some people may hate and some people may love. I personally love it so don't mind piling it on my skin like there is no tomorrow! The cream itself is extremely thick but very creamy. It takes a long time to rub into your skin but after it literally leaves your skin feeling like silk. I have to admit once first applied it is quite oily but this does disappear once the cream has set in.

The only problem with this cream is it only has an end of life usage date for around a month, which is understandable as all Lush products are 100% natural however for the price you pay you would expect to be able to use the cream for quite a lot longer than the life span of the product. Mine has now past the date and i still have a lot of products left which is just going to go to waste which is such a shame as i really do love the cream!

Have any of you guys tried this product?

FYI: I am still quite new to lush so wasn't aware that most lush products should last around 3 months, so something has obviously gone wrong, wheither it has the wrong sticker or it had been on the shelf for a while i do not know so i am going to be digging out my receipt at taking it back to lush to sort out the problem. Thankyou Charlie for making me aware of this. For anyone who is going to comment that i can still use this i can tell it has already gone off so there is no way i can.

  1. I just need to correct you about the use by dates thing. If yours only had one month on it when you bought it you should have returned it. All lush products including Creme Aglaise have to have at least three months til the use by date when they are sold. I think the only exceptions are a few of the face cleansers and all the masks. You were sold a product that shouldn't have been on the shelf I'm afraid.

  2. @Charlie Omg wow i really didnt know that! Thankyou so so really did confuse me so im totally going to dig out my reciept and take it back!

  3. Yes - do it! You were ripped off. I will just triple check for you first but I am 100% sure xx

  4. I am definitely right but just check you're reading the year properly and it doesn't say 2011!

  5. 100% it says 27/03/2010 such a joke..i was so disappointed when i saw it :( X

  6. I'm a bit confused because they haven't been making it long enough to go out of date so it's definitely wrong somehow, take it back :) x

  7. There is no need for it to go to waste! They print that information for Trading Standards sake, just carry on using it as you have, your nose will tell you when it has really gone out of date.

  8. I refuse to pay so much for it...I used to work for B (the sister shop where it came from!)and it was about £17 and that was in a glass jar with fancy label. Now it's £20 something in a boring black pot. Bad, bad Lush, but it's smells and feels amazing on the skin I must admit!

  9. Dreams that glitter, Creme Anglaise was in a 175g pot with B, the new Lush one is a 240g pot.

Price per gram in B 10.6p, price per gram in Lush 10.4p

    It's marginally cheaper now.

  10. you would of least thought they would have not charged u full price for it if there was only a month left,iv heard that they do that sometimes xxx

  11. Something doesn't seem right with that - take it back! £25 for a months use?! That is crazyness. Get yourself another one ;) xx

  12. I love this stuff..just wish i wasnt so expensive! xx
