September GlossyBox Maggie Li Edition

September GlossyBox*

I have been incredibly awful with posting about my Glossybox, in fact it has been a really really long time since i last did a Glossybox post. I am really sorry for this, i just got behind 1 month and then it just spiralled from there and then i got totally behind. I am a little late with the September box but i wanted to come back to reviewing my Glossybox with a bang and i certainly think this months box is worthy of that. I do promise that from now on i will resume to reviewing my box as normal. I am a Glossybox Embassador which means i do get the box sent to me for free and also a little earlier than the normal shipment date which means i can test and trail the products for a while before getting my review up on the day of shipment, i absolutely love getting my Glossybox and testing out all the products so i will for sure get back to being a good blogger and getting my post up every month for you!

So onto the September box, the box itself is gorgeous and has been designed by Maggie Li an amazing illustrator. I am so in love with the box and will for sure be displaying it on my new desk..i popped a few snaps of my new desk on instagram which you can follow me on there at sophieismadeup but if you would like to see a few pictures on here and for me to let you know where everything was from then i would be happy to do that for you.

Anyway so what did i get inside this months box?

Lady Gaga Fame Fragrance Sample
Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream
L'oreal Professional Tecni Art Full Volume Extra Mousse and Smooth Control Gel Cream
Rodial Sample sachet of the Glamoxy Snake Skin Serum and 5 Minute Facial

I was really happy with the contents of my box this month. The big winner for me was the sample of the Lady Gaga Fame Fragrance, i know there is a lot of controversy about perfume samples but i have to say i really like them for my handbag and what with being a huge gaga fan and not having smelt the fragrance yet i was so happy i could try it and also keep the sample in my handbag..the fragrance is gorgeous by the way, nothing too out there and doesn't smell totally different from anything else but non the less it is lovely. I have always been a fan of  The Body Shop Vitamin E range and i had totally forgotten how much i loved it so was super happy to see a little pot of goodness in my box. Balance Me has always been a brand i have been really interested by so to get their Wonder eye cream was really wonderful...i love it already!! The L'oreal Tecni range i believe is really popular so i am excited to try both products. Rodial is a brand which i really love so i was really excited to see some samples of the very popular snake serum and 5 minute facial..i think the 5 minute facial should be my treat for tonight whilst watching x factor!

This month i have to say i was really impressed and happy with my box, especially the design of the box its just gorgeous!

Thank-you so much Glossybox and here's to me being back on track with my reviews yaaaaay!!

What did you think of this months Glossybox?
Were you happy with your products?

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Review

Hair oils are slowly becoming a must have product in women's hair routines and there are now so many on the market. I must admit i am pretty new to the hair oil craze but this new Extraordinary Oil from L'oreal has really opened my eyes to the world of oil and i now swear by it. I have fine hair but sooo much of it and i also have very oily hair which is why i had been staying clear of hair oils as i just thought the two together would just cause some huge mess, i was very wrong. Although i have oily roots my ends are incredibly dry, i straighten my hair pretty much everyday, as i have a short style it means straightening is the only way to keep my style in place as such. I really wish i could just dry and go or even air dry as it would do my hair so many favours but with the style i have the 'bed head' look certainly doesn't work. I am currently growing my hair so one day i will be rocking the 'bed head' look. This is another reason as to why my ends are pretty dry, growing my hair always means i am such a wimp when it comes to going to the hairdresser, i am in dyer need of a tidy up but i just can't bring myself to do it as i'm afraid they will just go scissor happy, anyone else find hairdressers do this?

So this is why the L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil is now my new best friend. The L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil has transformed my dry brittle ends into silky smooth locks and incredibly shiny locks at that! It contains a precious blend of 6 flower extracts with nourishing properties for sumptuous softness and luxurious shine.

The product itself smells divine, like a sweet men's aftershave, sounds awful but really is lovely. It comes is a gorgeously elegant glass bottle which really gives it that higher end hair care feel but i must say that doesn't make it very good for traveling if you travel a lot. It is available for all hair types and also coloured hair, i don't have coloured hair so i'm using the one for all hair types.

All you need to do is rub 2 precious drops between the palms of your hands and apply to the ends of your hair, either damp or dry. It works amazingly with both, i use it on damp hair and then again after i have styled my hair.

Like i said earlier i have been slightly worried about using hair oils as i suffer with oily hair but as long as i just keep it on the ends of my hair it doesn't make my hair extra greasy and it doesn't weigh it down either, my hair honestly loves it.

I am now a total hair oil convert and i can't wait to try more, but for now the Extraordinary Oil is the one for me.

RRP L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil £9.99

Extraordinary Oil is available from for £6.99 what an amazing saving?

Do you love hair oils? Have you tried this Extraordinary Oil?

Japonesque Safari Chic Brush Collection

Japonesque Safari Chic Collection*

Leopard print lovers are you ready?

I have been a fan of Japonesque brushes for a while now and have already reviewed a lot of their brushes on my blog before, i love the quality of their brushes and they are just so affordable. When this new Safari Chic Collection landed on my desk i literally gasped at how amazing they are. Have you ever seen a Leopard print brush before? How crazy but how amazing?

The brushes are still the amazing quality that Japonesque are known for, super super soft and so fantastic to work with. My favourite my far is the kabuki style brush and the blusher brush. I have to admit that the eye-shadow brushes are a slightly awkward size and shape so are slightly hard to use for the crease or blending ect but just to pat on an all over colour they work fine.

They are the perfect sized brushes as they are very travel friendly with the short handle, so if you really are a Leopard fan you could just whack this out on the tube and so off your super funky brush!

I know that i actually really didn't want to use these at first as they are just too pretty and i didn't want to ruin the Leopard print but they are just so damn soft and good its too hard not to use them!

I know that the brushes are not going to be to everyone's taste as a lot of people i think will just want to stick to the traditional type of brushes but i personally think this brings a bit of fun and personality to your kit.

Japonesque Brushes are available from HQ Hair for £28 & the Kabuki is £19.50.

What do you think of these brushes? Do you love them or hate them?

Handpicked Media London Fashion Week Suite With Ted Baker ♥

Over the past few days Handpicked Media have had a truly gorgeous suite at the One Aldwych Hotel where during London Fashion Week Handpicked members could pop in and out for breaks from Fashion Week, to go and do some work and get blog post's up quickly using the pretty snazzy laptop area set up or generally just to chill which was really really amazing of Handpicked and i literally can't thank them enough as i have had so much fun at the suite. Along side all that amazing-ness they had a few brands showcasing new season goodies from New Look to Ugg and Ted Baker. I was lucky enough to pop by to see Ugg and also Ted Baker so today i just wanted to share with you some of their new pieces as i fell in love with a lot!

I have a real soft spot for Ted Baker accessories, they have the most stunning make-up bags, purses, iPhone cases, iPad cases the list is endless..i am known to pop down to the Sweet Shoppe they have in Terminal 5 Heathrow on my lunch break to adorn myself in glittery bows and patent colours, it really is a dream.

The new season clothes are just as fabulous with bright fun prints to bold statement plain pieces, yet with gorgeously patterned lining, every piece has some sort of small amazing detail which just makes everything a dream. Mustard's and cobalt blue were definitely stand out colour's of the collection!

I especially fell in love with the red wine coloured structured bag which is pictures beautiful?

The men's pieces were just as fabulous with classic men's chic but still adding a pop of colour and a classic satchel.

Whilst at the Suite for Ted Baker we were very kindly treated to a Shellac manicure, it was in fact my first ever Shellac manicure and i have to say i am so incredibly pleased with it. I will keep you guys updated with how i get on but so far i absolutely love it! I went for a classic frenchy which just looks so classic and polished i love it!!

I have been very lucky over the past few days at the suite and have had a really amazing time so Thank-you ever so much Handpicked i loved every minute!

Have you been enjoying London Fashion Week? Is there any stand out pieces you have spotted from Ted Baker? Have you ever had a Shellac Manicure?

Liz Earle Rose & Lavender Cleanse & Polish Review!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish is a huge cult product in the beauty industry, i think pretty much everyone has heard about if it not tried it for themselves. I for one have used it over and over and over, i think it will always be my back up cleanser it isn't the cleanser i use everyday but its one i know i can go back to each time and it will completely help and clear my skin. If i wasn't so naughty and liked to try new skincare all the time i would most definitely stick to the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. So when i spotted in my inbox an email about a new Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish i was super excited, it then later on in the week landed on my desk so i can now share my thoughts with you.

This is in fact a limited edition version of the Cleanse & Polish which has a Rose and Lavender scent!

Just in case you haven't heard of the original Cleanse & Polish then it is basically a thick rich cream cleanser which you massage onto dry skin, over your eyes, face and neck then rinse off with the muslin cloth which you have had running under hot water. It removes all and i mean all traces of make-up and gently exfoliates at the same time meaning you can completely skin this step in your skincare routine.

Now there isn't much difference between the original and the new limited edition version other than it contains some rose and lavender essential oils which offers a calming and relaxing scent.

Also rather than the original duck egg coloured packaging, this special edition comes in a much larger soft white shade with a gorgeous pink and purple design..i really adore the packaging!!

I have to admit i am not the biggest fan of lavender scents so for me it is a little strong but i love the rose scent that comes through. None the less the product is still just as amazing and to be honest when i use this at night the lavender does help to give me a good nights sleep so i cant really complain, its just my fussy nose not liking lavender.

So if you are already a fan of the original Cleanse & Polish or if you a newbie to it all then i would for sure recommend you try the Special Edition, £2 of every purchase will go towards to Prince's Trust which is amazing and it is available now on the Liz Earle website and also at beauty counters for £19.50.

Are you a fan of Liz Earle? Do you love the Special Edition?

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm Review

Now this is a product that really is on every bloggers lips at the moment, everyone seems to be loving and raving about it. Whilst i was at a fab pharmacy in Covent Garden with Sabrina this week i quickly spotted they had a Nuxe stand so i knew it had to be done, i knew i had to pick up the amazing lip balm everyone has been talking about and see what all the fuss was about, especially as it was only £8.50 instead of the RRP of £9.50 who doesn't love a bit of discount (that's what i was telling myself anyway) That may seem a little pricey for a lip balm but it is 100% worth it!!

It is the thickest, non sticky, most moisturising lip balm i have ever ever used and it leaves to most gorgeous matte effect on the lips. I can apply it at night and by the morning it is still on my lips uh-mazzzzing i'd say.

I works perfectly by itself but also works amazingly in conjunction with a lipstick, if you suffer with lipsticks drying your lips out then pop some of this bad boy on before you apply your lipstick and you will be blown away, its like the perfect lipstick primer and i also helps to keep your lipstick on longer.

To me it smells like chocolate orange...does anyone else get that from it because i think i may be the only one?? It contains honey and precious oils but i honestly get chocolate orange much like a Terry's Chocolate orange :P It really isn't a bad thing i absolutely love the scent.

I honestly love everything about this lip balm and now want another so i can have one in my bag and one on my bedside that a little extreme?? Nahhhh its just too damn good!!

It really is a must have and a teeny tiny amount goes such a long way!

It is a slightly strange consistency and first but you will get used to it i will probably get addicted haha!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip balm is available from Marks & Spencer for £9.50

Have you tried any Nuxe products?
Do you swear by this lip balm?
Do you get the chocolate orange?

Cher Lloyd Fragrance ♥

Cher Lloyd Fragrance*

Cher Lloyd, the 19 year old singer who found fame on the X Factor, has launched her debut fragrance and i was lucky enough to attend the launch this morning so i can now share the my thoughts on the fragrance with you!

Housed in a huge bright pink diamond it completely screams Cher Lloyd!!
Cher has always wanted to release a fragrance which embodies her unique personality, the diamond is used as an iconic symbol for all of us to remember that no matter what others may say, we are all special!

At the launch Cher explained she wanted to create a sweet vanilla based scent because when she was younger she always wore perfumes with vanilla tones and therefore wanted to launch a fragrance she herself would want to wear.

The fragrance itself is very sweet and girly, it has top notes of Golden Quince, Cassis and Exotic Kiwi mixed with the middle notes Jasmine Petals, White Chocolate, Orchid and Orris Root and to top it off base notes of Creamy Musks, Vanilla Pod and Indian Sandalwood.

If i am totally honest the fragrance is very very similar to Britney Spears Fantasy, maybe even a lighter version of it. I actually adore Britney Spears Fantasy but can sometimes find it slightly to heavy and strong so love the fact that this Cher Lloyd fragrance is slightly lighter but with the same gorgeous sweet fruity scent!

I can see this being very popular especially with the teens..i think they will love to have the bright pink diamond on their dressing table or take it out of their bag on break for a quick spritz, i for one know i would have loved to have this when i was younger.

It is also a great price at £15.00 for 30ml and £20.00 for 50ml

Cher's fragrance is now available from The Fragrance Shop!

Do you love or hate this bottle? Does it sound like something you would like?
